Before you order acoustic slat wall panels: plan the whole wall

A wall-panel order starts with more than square footage. Confirm the exact finish, full panel dimensions, cuts, openings, edges and mounting plan before the material list is finalized.

Identify the exact panel and surface

AFD's WP-05 Luxury Black product page identifies an acoustic wall panel made with medium-density fiberboard and polyester felt backing. It lists the face as wood veneer or PVC film, which makes the exact product code and finish important parts of the inquiry—not details to infer from a room photo.

Ask Nate about a physical sample for the finish you are considering. Review it beside the flooring, cabinetry, paint and lighting in the actual room, then keep the product code with your project notes.

Measure the wall as a layout

The current AFD technical sheet lists each panel at 109.5 inches high, 24 inches wide and 21 millimeters thick, with two pieces per package. Those dimensions help frame the conversation, but they do not replace a panel-by-panel layout from your independent installer.

Record the wall's full width and height, then mark baseboards, ceilings, inside and outside corners, windows, doors, outlets, switches, vents and any planned television or cabinetry. Decide where cut edges will land and how the first and last panels will be finished before determining the material quantity.

Match the mounting plan to the wall

AFD lists mounting glue, screws or crown staples as installation methods. Its installation guide begins with cleaning and preparing the wall and using a level so the first panel starts straight. The guide gives a separate batten-based approach for concrete walls.

Your installer should select the fastening method for the actual substrate and identify framing, utilities and any surface preparation. Vegas Home Supply supplies materials and does not perform installations.

Plan for care and room conditions

AFD's product data calls for vacuum or dry-cloth maintenance and no water. Its wood-veneer care guide also warns against high-humidity areas, direct sunlight and excessive heat. Confirm which care instructions apply to the exact surface you choose and whether the intended room is appropriate.

A complete request gives Nate enough information to identify the product while leaving installation decisions with the installer.

  • Panel product code and preferred finish.
  • Wall width, height and clear photos of the entire surface.
  • Locations of openings, outlets, switches, vents and fixed features.
  • Wall substrate and the installer's planned mounting method.
  • Project ZIP code and desired material timing.
