Meet the material, not just the room photo
AFD identifies RC01 Marseille as engineered European oak with character grading, a lightly wire-brushed surface and a matte UV lacquer finish. Its product page lists planks 8 5/8 inches wide and 5/8 inch thick, with a length of 86 5/8 inches described as “mostly.” Treat that qualifier as a question about the carton’s length mix, rather than expecting every board to be identical.
Use those proportions when discussing the layout. Bring a simple room sketch showing the long sightlines, doorways and adjoining floors. A wide plank is a design choice; your independent installer still needs to assess the actual room.
One detail needs confirmation: the top layer
The AFD sources checked on September 29, 2026 do not give one consistent top-layer answer. The RC01 product page lists 4 mm or 2 mm; page 1 of the linked Ravenna & La Vie specification sheet lists 4 mm for the group that includes RC01.
Before ordering, ask Nate to obtain confirmation of the construction being quoted and the matching current specification. Keep that answer with the product code and order details. Do not assume a top-layer thickness from the collection name or use it alone to promise future sanding or refinishing.
Plan for the indoor environment
AFD’s engineered-hardwood installation guide calls for relative humidity of 35–55% before, during and after installation. It also calls for moisture checks and acclimation until the wood reaches equilibrium with its surroundings. This is a conditions-based process, not a fixed countdown.
For a Las Vegas project, ask your installer how those requirements will be measured and maintained in the actual building. Discuss HVAC operation, the subfloor and storage before arranging material arrival. Vegas Home Supply supplies materials and does not perform installations.
Turn the shortlist into a clear inquiry
Make a short project note before requesting a quote. Separating the appearance decision from the technical confirmations makes it easier to see what is settled and what still needs an answer.
